Prague Proms 2023 programme offer
Dear Listeners, another year has passed and I am honoured to announce another Prague Proms festival year. We hope that you will be just as delighted with our carefully selected programme as in previous event years. Once again you can look forward to classical music concerts but also a healthy serving of jazz and crossover.
One of the most highly anticipated events has to be the Eastwood Symphonic at the Municipal House. By showcasing melodies from Clint Eastwood movies, along with the actor’s son Kyle Eastwood, the evening is our chance to pay tribute to the acting legend. The Loop Jazz Club will host the actress Sarah Haváčová and present the monodrama Alma Rosé based on real life events. Meanwhile at the Municipal Hall, the Voices of Hollywood concert will serve up hits from the very best film soundtracks featuring the celebrated Jeremy Winston Chorale and the CNSO under the baton of Steven Mercurio. The one and only Vince Mendoza will also be travelling to Prague to perform his Grammy bedecked work at the Municipal House. Plus fans of more intimate concerts won’t be disappointed with a guitar recital with Pavel Steidl at our jazz club. Then the following day, St Barbara’s Church in Kutná Hora will host the renowned Jeremy Winston Chorale. Then in September audiences can look forward to performances from two singers; Veronika Vítová and guests at The Loop Jazz Club, plus Austrian soprano Hedwig Ritter at the Martinů Hall. The Hostivař venu will also host a Jam Session project and the RAZAM formation with Iva Marešová.
Not forgetting the public’s favourite, Carl Davis is set to return to the Municipal House to do his magic along with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra performing tracks from the immortal Beatles at his Beatles Night. Audiences will of course also be delighted to attend a concert at the Agnes Convent featuring Chamber from of the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. The festival will be brought to a close with a good dose of jazz at the Focused on Jazz Fusion concert.
