James Newton Howard Live in Concert

Municipal House, Smetana Hall,

After three years apart, one of the most respected contemporary film music composers will be performing with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra; and finally he’s coming to Prague! The concert is set to build on the successful collaboration starting with the grand European tour "Three Decades for Hollywood", which took place at the end of 2017, and saw him tour nine European countries with his orchestra works.

Since 1985, James Newton Howard has written music for more than 130 films, including Pretty Woman, The Prince of Tides, The Sixth Sense, The Village, the new version of King Kong, the Hunger Games Trilogy, Maleficent - Mistress of Evil plus Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, new episodes of which have yet to be premiered. During his career to date he has been nominated for 8 Academy Awards, 4 Golden Globes, BAFTA plus 5 Emmy Awards, one of which resulted in a win. In 2009 he won a Grammy Award with Hans Zimmer for his work on the film The Dark Knight. Over 1.9 million people stream his music on Spotify every month.

Those attending the concert at the Smetana Hall will get to hear Newton Howard's most successful musical works performed by more than a hundred musicians and singers.
