The World of Richard Dreyfuss

Sure to stand out as one of the one of the highlights at this year’s Prague Proms is a concert featuring the ichthyologist Hooper (Jaws, directed by Steven Spielberg, 1975), and the music of Glenn Holland (Mr Holland’s Opus, directed by Stephen Herek, 1995), led by Steven Mercurio. And we’re delighted to report that the Hollywood actor Richard Dreyfuss has accepted the invitation from festival director Jan Hasenöhrl to take part in the concert programme.

The Municipal House has the honour of hosting the premiere of Steven Mercurio’s new work, accompanied by a performance from Richard Dreyfuss. And to keep up the suspense we’ve decided to hold off sharing the title just yet. Apart from this piece, you can also look forward to checking out a selection of melodies from films, some of which Dreyfruss appeared in, not to mention Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf.

We trust that neither this concert nor the festival will disrupt Close Encounters of the Third Kind (directed by Steven Spielberg, 1977) and Roy Neary will happily travel back to the US from Václav Havel Airport by standard aviation means, enriched with new experiences.
