Hedwig Ritter
Hedwig Ritter is an Austrian soprano currently engaged by the Vienna Volksoper. This season she is singing the roles of Adele in Die Fledermaus, Euridice in Orpheus in the Underworld, Blonde in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Valencienne in The Merry Widow, Clorinda in La Cenerentola and Lisa in Gräfin Mariza. Before coming to the Volksoper she was a member of the opera studio in Linz, Austria. Past engagements include Queen of the Night in Mainfrankentheater Würzburg and the world premiere of Der Besucher in the Theater Bielefeld, Germany. As a child she studied trumpet at the Kunstuni Graz. After high school she studied voice at the MUK Wien with Uta Schwabe and at the HfMT Köln with Kai Wessel.
