Jeremy Winston Chorale

The Jeremy Winston Chorale is quickly emerging as one of America’s foremost professional ambassadors for choral music. Built with some of the nation’s precious hidden gems, this ensemble brings together singers from across the nation to form this outstanding ensemble.

Founded in 2012, the Jeremy Winston Chorale has made an indelible mark in the music community. The Chorale’s inaugural performance was at the world’s largest choral competition, the World Choir Games in Cincinnati, Ohio. Competing against world-class choirs from around the globe, the Jeremy Winston Chorale was crowned as gold medal champions for Best Gospel Choir, with silver medals for Mixed Chorus (classical music) and Spirituals.

Since winning at the World Choir Games, the Chorale has been featured in many outstanding performances, including a concert for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House in December 2012 and an encore performance in December 2015. This year, the Chorale embarked on its first international tour with concerts and performances in cities in Germany, France, and the Czech Republic. Received with overwhelming enthusiasm by concert-goers and critics, the Chorale has received great praise culminating in a viral video of their flash mob at Europa Passage mall in Hamburg, Germany, singing Oh, Happy Day, which was the most viewed Facebook video in Germany for 2016.

In February 2019, the Chorale presented a Black History concert at the home of the U. S. Ambassador to Colombia in Bogota, Colombia. As ambassadors for the U. S., the Chorale was greeted with a warm message from Colombia’s president. The Chorale regularly presents concerts in local U. S. cities including Washington D. C.; Philadelphia, PA; Atlanta, GA; and more. The Chorale was featured as guest performers with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra in their Prague Proms concert series.

They have made their mark as adept performers of all music from classic masterpieces to negro spirituals, gospel, and popular music with commanding accuracy and outstanding musicianship. They are truly a mark of musical exceptionalism.

The conductor and artistic director of the Chorale is Jeremy Scott Winston. A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he is a sought-after educator and John F. Kennedy Medal winner. Other highlights include performances with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Jazz Orchestra or presenting at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. In April 2012 Oakwood University recognised Jeremy as an outstanding alumnus.
