Marek Vajo
Marek Vajo graduated from the Prague Conservatoire, a student in Antonín Vajgl’s trumpet class. He went on to pursue his studies at the Music Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts with professor Václav Junek. Over the course of his studies he took part in a great many international competitions – reaping rewards including 2ndprize at Korea’s Jeju International Brass Competition and getting to the final round in Toulon, France. He also achieved successes at the Prague Spring Competition and the International Music Competition in Paris. Vajo collaborates with leading Czech orchestras – the Czech Philharmonic, PKF - Prague Philharmonia, Prague Chamber Orchestra, etc. Marek Vajo is currently a member of the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of Prague FOK. Alongside orchestral work, he is also pursuing a solo career and is a member of several major brass ensembles.
