Alan Silvestri: Greatest Movie Themes

September’s Prague Proms programme will feature a concert dedicated to the film music of American composer Alan Silvestri, one of the most significant composers of Hollywood film scores. Conducted by Chris Egan, the Czech National Symphony Orchestra will revisit melodies from a number of successful films, including Forrest Gump, Back to the Future, Predator, The Avengers and The Polar Express.
Silvestri’s work is distinguished by striking melodies, rich orchestration and the ability to underscore both the emotion and tension of a film’s story. His scores have become an integral part of world cinema and to this day rank among the most significant achievements in film music.
