Prague Proms 2025

Events on offer at the 2025 Prague Proms

Dear audience members, we are excited to present the next year of the Prague Proms International Music Festival. We promise that the diverse program you will experience this season will continue into the year 2025. Once again, the Czech republic will host world-renowned performers as part of the festival, as well as invite prominent figures of the Czech music scene to perform. This year, you can look forward to hearing a selection of film music medleys, an excellent jazz and crossover pieces that combine musical elements from multiple genres.

The festival will open with a concert with a film projection of Heroes in Pictures, which is dedicated to the heroes and participants of the Second World War, who fought in one of the heaviest battles in history. The Czech National Symphony Orchestra and conductor Steven Mercurio will perform. This will be followed by the non traditional brass ensemble Mnozil Brass and the excellent Prague Guitar Quartet, who will offer their own transcriptions of compositions in addition to the original works. The series of concerts will continue with the Hollywood Night concert, particularly popular with audiences, led by chief conductor Steven Mercurio, singers Simona Hulejová and Ondřej Izdný, the vocal sextet Skety and the soloists of one of the best gospel choirs in the world, the Jeremy Winston Chorale. A few days later, other singers of this great choir will travel to Prague, and in combination will fill out the Smetana Hall with their unique voices at the Hundred Voices concert. This concert will be orchestrated by the conductor and artistic director of the choir, the sought-after educator and recipient of the John F. Kennedy Medal, Jeremy Winston.

Visitors can also look forward to the multi-genre singer, lyricist and composer Marta Kloučková and her formation Marta Kloučková Quintet, as well as a jazz evening featuring the concert known as Bigband in Film, where The Loop Jazz Orchestra will play several hits from the silver screen. As usual, the CNSO Chamber Soloists will perform under the supervision of concertmaster Alexej Rosík. This year, for the first time in the wonderful Žižkostel, three renowned musicians in the genre of world music will be performing. Next up will be the concert Jazz Drink Vol. 2 with culinary magician Roman Vaněk, which will offer delicious cocktails and a good dose of jazz. The Bárka band is also prepared with its lovely chamber repertoire, as well as the Focused on Jazz Fusion concert, again performed by The Loop Jazz Orchestra. The unique American singer Valerie Kippen will close the festival with her concert of jazz standards All About Love.

We look forward to the event and thank all of our loyal supporters.
